His Lower East Side exhibition at The Jewish Museum in New York was the most popular in that Museum's history, and his book, Portal to America, has become the basic reference on the experience so f the Eastern European Jewish immigrants in New York. The introduction to The American Jewish Album is by Henry Feingold, Professor of History at the City University of New York, and the extensive bibliography has been prepared by Nathan Kaganoff, Librarian of the American Jewish Historical Society. .
