Book Description

Christianity is a call to a life of prayer and activism, says Susan Rakoczy, author of this book. The author traces the lives and writings of contemplatives who championed activism, political, religious, and social. For example, she considers the life and work of Catherine of Siena, Ignatius of Loyola, Evelyn Underhill, Thomas Merton, Dorothy Day, and four South Africans: Denis Hurley, Beyers Naude', Nelson Mandela, and Desmond Tutu. The author is a native of Detroit, Michigan. She holds a PhD in theology from the Catholic University of America. Currently, she is a lecturer in theology at St. Joseph's Theological Institute, Cedara, South Africa.

A Catholic publisher in San Francisco says, \"Items are not sold on approval. No returns or exchanges except for damaged or defective products. Problems must be noted within 30 days of receipt of product. Shipping costs will not be refunded.\"

A Catholic publisher in New Jersey says that refunds are granted for products that are damaged in transit or defective in nature. \"No return will be accepted unless it has been approved previously by phone and assigned a return material authorization number.\"

The policy of ACP is much the same as these and other major Catholic publishers. Of course, if you have received damaged, defective, or incorrectly shipped books or other merchandise, please call or email us for instructions on returns.
