Book description: Salem, MA.: The Essex Institute., 1869. pp: viii, 683. Illustrated with thirteen plates and 116 woodcuts to the text. Appears to have been professionally rebound in red library cloth, titled in gilt to the spine. The lower fore-corner of the text block has been water damaged, leaving a tide-mark to the fore-edge and cockling to the text; it declines in area until by about page 288 it has disappeared and even on the worst-affected leaves it is only somewhat unsightly and has left the pages quite readable. This Volume covers the twelve months from March 1868 to February 1869. Glossary, index. The contents of each magazine cover a wide range of natural history subjects from A Naturalist in Brazil to Bears and Bear Hunting and Fresh-water Shell - heaps of St. Johns River, East Florida.. Monthly Magazine, Bound.. Cloth, Gilt Lettering.. Good-Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo. Natural History..
