Elephant atlas hardcover, quarter leather on tips, embossed cloth with gilt lettering, tight binding, clean unfoxed and untorn pages, the cover has light wear, expertly rebacked. Contains 92 numbered maps(#1 is title vignette), included are 3 extra maps: "Military "map of the U.S., "Washington D. C./Georgetown", and "Russia". All maps are bright, unmarked, unfoxed or untorn though #29 has corner missing but does not affect the margins/body of the map. The body of the maps are hand coloured, many small inserted vignette views, nicely engraved borders. Maps have "Johnson Browning" as signatures. Additionally there is a small notice to subscribers laid-in: "...agree to send such New Maps...free of expence on receipt of fifteen cents for each map." A very decent copy with excellent maps. .
