There is what appears to be an official stamp dated 13 May 1846 on the back of each title page. The covers are somewhat worn and rubbed, the edges of the pages are spotted and there is some spotting on the pages, there is an owner inscription on the front inner board of each volume, and the inner hinges are cracked. Text in Greek Language. (Classics, Orations).

St. Ives: Being The Adventures of a French Prisoner in England (1897) is an unfinished novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. It was completed in 1898 by Arthur Quiller-Couch. Unable to write, Stevenson dictated thirty chapters of the novel to his stepdaughter as a diversion from his debilitating illness. He alternated dictating St. Ives and The Weir of Hermiston but gradually lost interest in the former. The plot concerns the adventures of the dashing Capitaine Jacques St. Ives, a Napoleonic soldier, after his capture by the British.
