Book summary

Bo Bradley is always battling her manic depression, but when her faithful dog, Mildred, dies, she takes a turn for the worse. Recuperating at the Ghost Flower Lodge hasn't been very relaxing because someone keeps calling her and playing yelping dog tapes over the phone. Then her friend and fellow patient Mort Wagman is murdered. Bo's left with Mort's six-year-old son, an orphan with an attention deficit disorder. She has to find a home for him while trying to figure out who killed Mort, and who is harassing her.
