Paris: Éditions Littéraires de France, 1946.. 214,[2]pp. Quarto. Loose signatures laid into printed wrappers. Very near fine, in edgeworn slipcase and chemise with gilt label. First printing in this format, with color woodcut vignettes, initials and decorations by Lucien Boucher. In addition to 505 numbered or lettered copies printed at the Imprimerie Nationale, this is one of an unknown number of unnumbered copies on Vélin, accompanied by one of the original watercolor designs (55 x 55mm) for one of the woodcuts, signed by the artist. Boucher (1889 - 1971) was a prolific book illustrator, but his advertising posters, including a series for Air France, are particularly popular. MONOD 4286.
