The Jungle Book and the Second Jungle Book. Offered as a set. Publisher: Century Co., New York, 1894/1895. These are the first American editions. Books are in excellent condition, with very minor edge wear to top and bottom of the spines. The Second Jungle book with 2 small stains of the cover, one on the spine and the other on the front cover. Owner's signature on front blank endpaper. spine : The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf. Also known as the back. endpaper : The double leaves bound into a book at the front and rear after printing.
