Description
[Bloomington, IN]: Corydon Press, 1944.. [8]pp. Folio. Cloth and boards, printed label. Lower forecorner bruised, with attendant light crease in board near corner, otherwise a very good copy in chipped dust jacket with split up spine fold. First edition in this format, boardbound issue. Illustrated with an original full-page multi-color woodcut by Joseph Low, who also designed and printed the volume. One of a total edition of 180 copies, with the woodcut signed by the artist.
boards : Common term for the covers of a hardbound book.
dust jacket : A protective and often decorative wrapper, usually made of paper which wraps around the binding of a book.
spine : The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf. Also known as the back.
chipped : A defect in which small pieces missing from the edges.
folio : a large book size, generally 15" in height or larger.
Cloth : Generally refers to a hardcover with cloth covering the outside of the book covers.
