Original light blue boards with black spine titles. 181pp plus 10pp rear adverts. Pictorial dw depicting a spectre rearing up behind a dilettante who is reading a book. The dw has some damage inc loss of three letters in front upper right corner, most of titles on top end of spine, and a larger loss to rear panel. The dw is protected in a plastic cover but is toned with age. In terms of overall loss, the dw is missing perhaps 5-10% of its total. For all that, is still a rare survival of a wonderfully attractive vintage dustwrapper. Collects seven ghost stories. NB. The publisher produced a small format 'pocket' version of the same book which is in a plain printed dw; also a pruned-down version omitting half of the stories in art nouveau card covers designed by Dulac. This undated collection in the Aubrey Hammond dw is the most desirable.
