Book description: Original dark green cloth with block spine titles and block tramlines to front cover. The front panel from the original pictorial dw by Graham Simmons has been affixed to the front free endpaper (depicting three Martians striding across the sea zapping ships and men in the water below). At some stage the endpapers have been replaced with thicker grey paper resulting in the loss of the title page. Thus the book starts with a printed dedication to Wells' brother, two pages of chapter headings, then 303pp of text. Cloth covers in pretty good shape, binding strong, a small number of pages have light markings / stains. A rare survival of an interesting dw panel.
