Book desription: London.: Thomas McLain., 1839-1849. 1852. Bound in period gilt titled blind ruled 1/4 grain morocco and cloth covered boards. Stylized gilt titles to front covers.. All volumes present chipping to head and tail pieces, rubbed covers, bumped corners and moderate shelfwear. Moderate foxing throuhout ( 1 plate more so ) and mainly marginal.Rear cover of Series 2 starting.Front Cover of Windsor beginning to detatch but still firm. 1 plate ( Throne Room - Windsor) presents a narrow 1/8 inch by 4 inch scrape with resultant loss of image. A handful of lithos toned dark. Generally a Very Good, crisp grouping. Complete compilations of these first issues along with the supplemental Windsor volume are very rare and scarcely available in the open marketplace.. Elephant Folio (15" x 21.5")..
