Book description: Washington, D.C.: Government Printing Office, 1908. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. This is a very well done book of very heavy stock. It described the National Gallery of Art which is overseen by the Smithsonian Institute. It includes a description of each piece of artwork hung and many sculptures. This is more of an historical look at the Gallery since the book is almost 100 yrs. old, but it is still very interesting to those who enjoy exploring art and art history. The plates inside are covered with tissue paper. The binding has wear on the bottom and top corners, but it is very slight. The spine is tight, and the 140 pages are neither marred or torn. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
