The Good Old Stuff by MacDonald, John D.; Greenberg, Martin H. (editor)
First Edition
New York, NY, U.S.A.: HarperCollins Publishers, 1982. First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Near Fine. This volume is a selection of 13 of MacDonald's best mystery stories written between 1947 and 1952, at the beginning of his career. While many readers know of his success from recent books such as Cinnamon Skin and The Empty Copper See, few but the hardcore mystery addicts remember when MacDonald wrote for magazines. Each story has been chosen carefully to give readers a taste of his early best and showcase the range of his abilities in the mystery genre. The blue binding is fine. The blue jacket has a small nick at the bottom edge and two nicks on the front, one from a label. Light wear at the spine ends. Inside the jacket at the bottom there was some water and some blue from the book transferred to the inside jacket, and lightened the front board. 393 pages, no marks or tears. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
