London, Paddington Press, Two Continents, Publishing Group, 1974 Very good red boards with black lettering to spine, 11.5 x 8.5 inches approx., gilt design to front board, corners a little bumped, gold and black illustrated dust jacket, chipped and worn to extremities with wear to the background, not clipped but creased to fold-in, black endpapers, no inscriptions, contents very good, 304 pages, fully illustrated in colour and black & white.
boards : Common term for the covers of a hardbound book.
dust jacket : A protective and often decorative wrapper, usually made of paper which wraps around the binding of a book.
spine : The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf. Also known as the back.
chipped : A defect in which small pieces missing from the edges.
