Book Description
Published By the Author, London, 1798. First Edition. Full-Leather. Good/None Issued. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Original gilt stamped leather binding is in poor condition, badly worn, half of the spine back strip missing, boards separated at top and bottom (still connected at middle), corners and spine ends badly bumped. Interior, however, is in very good condition, clean, no foxing, unmarked, no writing or notations; binding is sound. Full leather with gilt decoration around perimeter of boards, leather spine label and gilt decoration on spine (where the gilt has not been worn off, it is remarkably bright), marbled end papers, map of Hindostan "Illustrating the Reign of Shah Aulum" tipped in as frontis, list of subscriber's, xx + [4] + 254 pp., all plates present and in very good condition.
