The basis for the classic 1944 Otto Preminger film of the same title starring Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews. In a striking Bip Pares jacket showing silhouettes of a man bending over a woman's body superimposed on an outline of Laura's face. War Economy Standard. Lightest of wear to book. The spine of the unclipped jacket (8'6) is darkened and has some erosion at the extremities, as well as wear at the flaps folds with minor losses there as well. Some soiling and three small ink marks on the rear panel. Overall, a very respectable copy indeed of a difficult title.
