Daly, from Harvard, established the first observation station on Kilauea in 1911. Later, Perret spent ten years in Martinique observing Mt. Pelee. He built a museum in St. Pierre, where this volume was signed. Dark blue cloth with gold titles on spine and front board. Cloth is somewhat scuffed and soiled. Head and tail of spine are bumped and rubbed. Toning to endpapers. Some foxing to pages, mostly to preliminary and appendix pages.
