DescriptionNew York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1928 Special photoplay edition based on silent film starring Lon Chaney Sr. No copies of the film remain. Contains six black and white stills from the film. Olive green cloth with black titles on front board and spine. Front and rear boards are very good with oly slight browning at edges. Corners are lightly rubbed. Spine has not faired as well. Head and tail of spine are heavily rubbed and cloth is darkend. There are several chips in the cloth, the 'L' is missing in the title at top of spine. The '&' is gone atthe bottom. There are a few small stains on the page edges including a small liquid spot on top. Pages are yellowing but otherwise clean. Binding is slightly loose but not cracked. Previous owners name and address written very neatly on ffep. 261p. plus several pages of ads for other Grosset & Dunlap editions including Edgar Rice Burroughs and Zane Grey.. First Edition. Cloth. Fair/No Jacket. Illus. by Metro Goldwyn Mayer. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. |
