Superb contemporary half dark blue crushed morocco with gilt raised bands, gilt titles and extra oriental-style gilt tooling to spines; blue cloth boards; top edges gilt, others untrimmed; marbled end papers. Illustrated throughout with etchings and photogravures, many from the works by Letchford. Spines uniformly faded to brown; fore edge of the pages and borders of covers age toned; some corners a little bumped or worn. A clean and sound set in a very handsome old leather binding.
