Hearing Past the Pain: Why White Catholic Theologians Need Black Theology

Book desription: In the author's view, Black theology is still marginalized. The author outlines reasons for this fact, such as residential segregation in the urban North, the ideal of assimilation, the impact of the Second Vatican Counci, and the separatist tone of Black theology. Using the work of Bernard Longergan and David Tracy, the author argues that Catholic theology itself requires collaboration with Black theologians, quite apart from the moral imperative of racial justice.

As is customary with most bookstores, acceptable refunds apply, not to shipping and handling expenses, but only to the purchase price of the book itself. In general, with such refunds, a restocking fee will be applied, to cover the costs involved, as is also customary with bookstores. If items of any kind are returned to ACP without our prior permission, no refund whatsoever may be granted. Call or email us first: (708) 331-5485 or acp@acpress.org. A Catholic publisher in San Francisco says, \"Items are not sold on approval. No returns or exchanges except for damaged or defective products. Problems must be noted within 30 days of receipt of product. Shipping costs will not be refunded.\"

A Catholic publisher in New Jersey says that refunds are granted for products that are damaged in transit or defective in nature. \"No return will be accepted unless it has been approved previously by phone and assigned a return material authorization number.\"

The policy of ACP is much the same as these and other major Catholic publishers. Of course, if you have received damaged, defective, or incorrectly shipped books or other merchandise, please call or email us for instructions on returns. In all such matters, our goal is your complete satisfaction. We will always do our best for you.
