Tokyo: K. Ogawa, 1893. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Ex-library with the usual markings, deacquisition stamp to rfep verso. Rebound in maroon library cloth. Perforated stamp to margin of title page and the margins of two plates. Overall in lovely condition, with bright unblemished chemigraphic photo illustrations by a pioneer in Japanese photography, Ogawa. This work begins with the Fujiwara epoch (10th to 12th century A.D.) and continues with the military costume of Kamakura Epoch (12th to 14th century A.D), Nanboku Epoch (late 14th Century) and end with Ashikaga Epoch (15th and 16th Century, the famous Shogun period).
