Book desription: London: Macmillan and Company, 1923. Unusually, this book is housed in a specially constructed two-part overwrap of buckram pasted on stiff paper with a gilt printed leather spine label; minimal rubbing to label. The original dust wrapper has been retained, protected by the overwrap. The original wrapper was not trimmed to the exact size of the book -- it is about 1/8" too tall -- and has suffered some slight edgewear and browning. The book itself is bound in polished burgundy cloth with a gilt-printed spine; minimal rubbing to bottom edge. The first four leaves of the book were clumsily opened, resulting in a tear at the top of each of the first two leaves (an initial blank and the half-title) and excess at the top of the two corresponding leaves (title page and first page of preface).. First Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good+. Octavo.
