Book summary

A greedy woman prepares her dinner without sharing even the smallest morsel with her pet cat. When the cat tries to take some of the food himself, the woman throws him out of the house into the cold, rainy night. Stuck outside, the cat becomes angry. That anger gives him the power to grow into the size of a tiger. Now with a tiger-sized appetite the cat returns to the house to teach the woman a lesson about sharing.

Media reviews

"Rankin painted her terrific watercolor illustrations on damp paper so the cat is literally blurry with rage."
