Description

JoTe Publications, 2007. 184pp, ill. Ted Cachart's story is a 'Boys Own' adventure recalling the life of an idealistic adolescent who falsified his age and joined the Royal Air Force at the age of 15. He served as a Wop/Ag on Lancasters, with 49 Squadron at RAF Fiskerton. Following a remarkable escape from his stricken Lancaster, Ted spent nearly 18 months as a prisoner of war. After many years Ted returned to Germany in an attempt to find the crash site of his aircraft and to visit some of the locations where he was held captive. THIS EDITION is bound in burgundy cloth instead of the black cloth of the standard edition and is limited to a quantity of 49 only. It is signed on a plate affixed to the front end paper by the five living members of the crew of Ted's aircraft and has facsimile signatures of the two crew members who died post-war. These facsimiles are taken from the original 1945 interrogation reports signed on return from captivity.. Signed. First Edition. As New/As New.
