This is a full, detailed catalogue of the 275 works in the collection donated to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. An important catalogue of American arts. This extensive catalogue is one of the finest for the study of colonial and early American furniture, painting, and the decorative of arts of the period of 1720-1820.This beautifully printed volume, set in Monotype Bembo and with full-tone collotype illustrations, established a high visual standard for furniture catalogs that was emulated by Joseph Downs in the 1950s and Morrison Heckscher in the 1980s.
