Description

San Francisco/Brooklyn: McSweeney's, 2002 OHHHHHH what a PRISTINE copy of the most UNIQUE, ARTISTICALLY wrought hardcover without dj you might have come across yet! PRINTED IN ICELAND, it has a sexy Black cloth binding over boards that appear to be recycled gray cardboard with deliberately roughed edges (it is NOT edgewear-this copy is pristinely AS NEW). The front cover appears to be LETTER PRESSED and is actually the beginning of the text. Eggers is a creative genius who has enlivened the literary world in amazingly potent ways - even the COVER of this book reflects his ability to rock the proverbial boat. Book has color artwork throughout at a few key places. The story itself is WONDERFUL, the story of two guys traveling the world attempting to give away large sums of money, trying to find relief from their angst ridden souls. This is the FIRST TRADE edition....not the limited edit with the statement regarding such. Absolutely clean/bright throughout. Definitely GIFT QUALITY. Nonsmoking. BELLYFIREBOOKS is a"one-woman" book business that is committed to stellar customer service, complete, accurate listings, and the belief that one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is a love for reading. Every order is appreciated.. First Edition. Decorative Hard Cover. As New/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Collectible.

Book summary

When their friend Jack is killed in a bizarre accident, Will and Hand--lifelong friends, both 20-somethings, both from Milwaukee--go off on a trip that takes them to Senegal, Morocco, and the Baltic states. They also have a great deal of money that they wish to give away (the profits from Will's odd little modeling gig) so Will can unload the guilt that goes with it. Strangers in strange lands, Will and Hand try to assuage their grief--and of course learn that their attempt is doomed to fail. A New York Times Notable Book for 2002.
