Book description: Salem, MA, 1960 FIRST PERSON was a magazine dedicated to memoirs, travels and humor, written by noted writers and talented newcomers. It contains the very first printing of Edward Gorey's LEAVES FROM A MISLAID ALBUM which was not published separately until 1972 by Gotham Book Mart. The latter edition was the only one listed in THE WORLD OF EDWARD GOREY but the first printing must have been unknown to the biographers. There are 8 b&w plates plus a short blurb about Gorey, mentioning THE UNSTRUNG HARP, THE DOUBTFUL GUEST, THE BUG BOOK & an announcement about THE FATAL LOZENGE.
