Book description: Secaucus, NJ: The Wellfleet Press, 1991. No statement of printing on the copyright page so I don't know if this is a 1st edition, 1st US edition or what. 256 pages, oversize hardcover with chronologies on the endpapers and an illustrated frontispiece/title page. Includes a ton of pictures/artwork/maps (many in full-color), also includes an Index. "This encyclopedia is the definitive survey of the subject of warfare, from the time of the earliest civilizations to the 1990s. Clear and concise surveys, with specially commissioned maps and battle plans, single out the really crucial battles and campaigns of world history, explaining not only why and how they were fought, but exactly what made them so important. This is linked to detailed examination and analysis of other key themes in the history of warfare - notably the impact of developing technologies on the way in which wars are fought, from the Bronze Age chariot to the helicoptor gunship." Excellent copy: tiny (and I do mean tiny) bit of bumping at upper corner of front, very faiint/shallow dent on back else the book is as new with NO previous owner's signature/bookplate/highlighting/underlining/notes/stamps. The dj has a tiny (again, I do mean tiny) bit of bumping at a couple extremities else as new, also, with NO tears/chips. NOT an ex-library, NOT a book club, NOT a remainder. Fine in Fine dj.. 1st Edition?, 1st Printing?. Hardcover. Fine/Fine.

Bookseller Terms of Sale

Returns: ALL MY BOOKS ARE GUARANTEED: returnable for any reason (except for "I read it and want to send it back now.") within two weeks of when you get them. All I ask is that you let me know you're sending them back and pack them well. Pictures and Condition: All of the pictures with my listings are of MY OWN BOOKS. I don't use publisher's stock photos or steal other dealers' pictures (that would be totally sleazy!). Grading: My top grade is Fine except for some of my older stock (science fiction, fantasy and horror from my personal collection) where it's Very Fine (I have to find time to edit those...). I ALWAYS point-out remainder marks, bookplates, previous owner's signatures and price-clipped djs. In fact, I tend to point-out everything that's wrong with a book. This may run some people off but I think it's better for you to KNOW what the books' flaws are rather than ordering from a dealer that just puts "Acceptable" or "G/G" and you're supposed to GUESS what's wrong. I'll put a new dj protector on all hardcovers with dust jackets for no charge. Shipping Terms: INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE: all of my international shipping rates are based on my use of a Priority or Express Mail Flat Rate Envelope to send you the book (don't worry, I'll pad it well before I put it in the envelope). However, if the book is too big for the envelope I will have to request more shipping. Also: I ACCEPT PAYPAL if you prefer. Please just order the book through Biblio and indicate that you want to pay with a check/cheque. Then send me the funds through PayPal and we'll be good to go. I offer free USPS delivery confirmation for all US orders. I carefully pack all books so that they will get to you safely. The dreaded disclaimer: if the post office loses your order it's not my fault! Of course, it's not YOUR fault either but getting the post office to admit it's THEIR fault is an exercise in futility. So, if you're worried about it (I've only had one package go missing out of all the thousands I've sent) I'd suggest you tell me you want insurance; I'll hit you up for the extra cost (but ONLY my cost, NO markup). Thank you. -Von
