An informal memoir by the noted New England writer of life and travels with her beloved mother, Harriet L. Sykes Humphrey (1832-1910.) Signed and inscribed on the front free endpaper with her married name: "Greetings to a friend of my friends / Zephine Humphrey Fahnestock / Dorset, [Vermont] 1941." 292 pages. 8vo hardcover, about 8 by 5.5 inches. Gray paper-covered boards with red titling and decorative border; paper spine label. Fair to Good condition only. Front hinge cracked but holding. Binding weak along the front joint. Chipped at head of spine about one-quarter inch, not affecting spine label. Text clean and unmarked intact. Clean internally. Book is protected by a new clear archival dust jacket. An imperfect but intact copy of a book that is quite scarce in any condition, and doubly so with the signature of Zephine Humphrey (1874-1956.).
