Synopsis: This edition appears a singular rarity at the time of listing. I researched Biblio.com (over 50 million books listed) and my worldwide Internet book search engine (over 150 million books listed), and found no other copies available for this work in this edition. American Publishers Corporation (1896-1897) emerged from John W. Lovell's attempt in 1890 to establish a monopoly controlling both stereoplates and bookstock for reprint publishers. In 1897 it brought suit to recover rights to the Seaside Library that Lovell had obtained from George Munro in 1890. American Publishers Corporation was a short-lived attempt to sort out the wreckage of Lovell's various companies. This work was published in 1896 under their series titled: The Cambridge Editions, subtitled: The Cambridge Poets. The Cambridge Editions were specific to only forty of the world's great poets. Original retail price per copy at fifty cents. This rare copy should be a "must have" for any collector of Burns or of the genre.
