Very Good condition green cloth hardcovers, beveled boards, gilt to front and spine, top edges gilt, brown endpapers, matching two volume set. Corners are a bit rubbed and spine ends frayed, particularly the bottom spine end of Volume I which has two short tears and a half inch tear to cloth at top left corner of spine where it meets the back hinge. Bindings are sound but for rear hinge of Volume I, where endpaper over hinge is cracked with underlying mesh still holding firmly. Contents are clean and unmarked but for a lengthy inscription on the front blanks of Volume I associating this set originally as a gift from Mary Dewey to Mrs. John D.Townsend, and a related account of Dr. Dewey and his brown wig. A preface by William Cullen Bryant precedes Books I through XII in volume one. Volume two contains Book XIII through XIV. This set weighs in at about seven pounds. #1983.. Cloth Hardcover. International orders are sent using First Class Mail International (Standard option) or Priority Mail International (Expedited option). If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. To reduce your costs, we can use the more economical flat rate services whenever possible if your order will fit into the required packaging, but please be aware many books will NOT be eligible for this option. Where applicable, international customers are responsible for paying any required customs duties, fees and taxes as required by their country.
We want your complete satisfaction. Items may be returned for a refund for any reason. We request that the returned item(s) be in the same condition received, unused and carefully repacked, and returned within 10 business days by an insured or traceable shipping method. Original shipping and handling fees are not refundable. The customer pays for return shipping unless there has been an error on our part.
