Book description: for Douglas Cleverdon, 1929 37pp: A masterpiece of modernist art and book illustration, David Jones' illustrations to Coleridge's classic. Published in a LIMITED EDITION OF 400 NUMBERED COPIES. A fine copy, in a new, designer binding of blue morocco over marbled boards, silver title on the spine. The marbled paper is by well known French papermaker Michel Duval; the papers (called "soleil" or "l'oeil de chat") resemble bubbles rising in a blue sea and thus accord further with the book. (Duval is said to have gone to the grave without divulging the secrets of his workshop, so his papers are highly prized and will not soon be duplicated). . First Edition. Half Calf. Fine.
