Very tiny shelf dent to bottom of spine. Previous owner 'notary type' library seal embossed on lower corner of title page. No other apparent damage. Profusely illustrated with black & white photographs. From the Introduction: "...a pictorial history of the east-west mainline of the Great Northern Railway beginning with the purchase of the St. Paul & Pacific in 1878 by James J. Hill and his associates with emphasis on the diverse and unusual motive power of the road and the geographical settings in which this power operated. ... the Great Northern was one of the few to be built without the aid of generous land grant to finance its pust west out of the Dakotas to Puget Sound..." 192 pp. Pages are clean, tight, unmarked & uncreased.
