This like new first American printing hardcover with dustjacket has an odd printing error. (This variation may be limited to a few copies, or it may affect many copies, or it may even be that the whole first printing is like this.) The first page after the flyleaf is a title page (not a half title), with title, author and publisher. The reverse of this page has the copyright information. The next page states "If you enjoyed The Blood Detective read on for a preview of Dan Waddell's second novel Blood Atonement to be published in June 2009..." However, the page following that (numbered 1) begins the novel The Blood Detective, as per normal. Near the end of the book, on page 293, the note about a preview is repeated exactly, but this time it is followed, in fact, by the promised preview. The text is otherwise perfect. I'll note that this is a great mystery, a British police procedural which also involves a main character who is a genealogist. (skujc61308)
