A popular, long-running radio show and a movie serial followed. Binding is royal blue t extured paper; lettering in orange is printed directly on cover and spine. Binding is in bright cond: no fading, no soiling, one min. tear 5/8" long at bottom, otherwise good. Endpapers feature 3 pri n cipal characters from the series: Captain Midnight and Joyce wear a dial pointing to midnight with wings on either side. The landscape behind them is tropical: lush foliage, palm trees. Endpapers d i sp lay hinging, but cover and pages are intatct. Mesh cloth secures cover to book. Endpapers are clean. Text has 17 chapters with titles such as: A Task for the jSecret Squadron, The Barracuda; The Fl yin g Spy; a Sinister Visitor; etc. 18 full page illust., well annotated: The Leader Was Known as Midnight"; "Joyce!
