Maps in the atlases, T.Bow-2d A lovely and detailed map of the China based on the Jesuit missionaries’ surveys carried out between 1708-1717. The survey began July 4th 1708 and traversed the whole expanse of China, finishing up on January 1, 1718. The work was carried out by French Jesuits Jean Baptiste Regis, Pierre Jartoux, Austrian Ernbert Fridelli, Portuguese Francis Cardoso and Guillaume Bonjour who was the only non Jesuit.
