Calbet. half parchment and speckled boards with original wraps bound in, some staining to parchment, very light offsetting from plates, else a clean copy. Antoine Calbet was a watercolourist and illustrator. A member of Salon des Artistes Français, Calbet won several awards for his works.
boards : Common term for the covers of a hardbound book.
wraps : The paper covering on the outside of a paperback.
plates : Full page illustrations or photographs. Plates are printed separately from the text of the book, and bound in at production. I.e., they are not sewn as parts of gatherings.
