INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Reagan on 17 November 1990 on the front endpaper: "Dear Jerry -- Now I wont [sic]/have any secrets to hide./Best Wishes & Regards./Ron/Ronald Reagan." Books genuinely signed by Reagan have become quite scarce and usually turn up with a signed bookplate rather than actually signed in the book. The Reagan Presidential Library is still selling copies with a bookplate signed by Reagan for $4,000. Rarely does one come across a copy with any kind of personal inscription. This copy bears the finest Reagan presentation we have encountered. One should also be aware that the market has been flooded with fake Reagan signatures in books sold on where the great majority of "signed" Ronald Reagan books offered are forgeries. Laid into the book on a small piece of Nancy Reagan Foundation stationery is a brief note signed by a secretary: "Mrs. Reagan asked that I send along to you the enclosed photograph [not present]. She said it is not the pose she mentioned to you, but she hopes it's better than the one Mr. Di Salvo has.
