Auf Befehl Sr. Majestät des Königs nach der Natur gezeichnet von Friedrich Lieder und in Aqua Tinta gestochen von Professor Jügel. - - Imperial folio. 14 large colour plates, each measuring 480 x 350mm, with ample margins, depicting a total of 36 uniformed military men and officers. Numbered and captioned. Plus a title leaf, verso with table of contents. Loose as issued in the original portfolio, quarter green cloth and forest-green patterned boards, original title-label to spine, very slight wear to spine ends. In fine condition (some foxing). A very handsome copy. - - Exceptionally high quality reprint of the 1820 original aquatint plates. The originals at the the Army Library in Berlin, a gift from the Führers and Reichskanzlers, was used by Graphische Kunstanstalt Jütte, of Leipzig, to created this superb set of prints, a fine example of a charming classic.
