Book description: [Np. ca. 1882].. [127]pp. including one illustration. Frontispiece of Jesse James. Original printed pictorial wrappers. Fine. A popular history of the exploits of Jesse James, from his beginnings, to the shooting death of Robert Ford, James' killer. Immediately following James' assassination, numerous books, pamphlets, and articles were published about his career as the most famous outlaw the West had ever known, of which this is certainly one. Of the many rumors that persisted after his death was one that he had not been killed, and that he lived until 1952 under the pseudonym of J. Frank Dalton. Not in Adams and evidently quite rare.
