New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1928 1929 reprint. J. Allen St. John jacket illustration, Tarzan and ape being constricted by large snake. Rear panel has rectangular portrait of ERB and lists 28 ERB titles, red border. Jacket is heavily worn; about a third of the spine is missing, mostly from the bottom. The top part of the word Tarzan is missing as is part of the 'J'. The front panel is creased and has a large closed tear that is tape repaired on the reverse. Jacket is now protected by clear mylar cover. Red cloth with red Tarzan on black background, the remainder of title is in black. Cloth is moderately worn and has a few small insect holes. Points are rubbed. Previous owners name written in pencil on ffep. Page edges are dust stained. There are also some dark stains to the leading edge of pages. There is some carry over into the interior. Extent of stains varies, for most of the pages it is confined to the margin, some it extends across the page. These are not typical water stains; they are more contained, but darker. Pictures can be provided. Some foxing to page edges and interior. 377p.. Reprint. Cloth. Good/Fair. Illus. by J.
