Revised and enlarged under his direction by John Wright." Ten volumes bound as five. Brown leather spine and points, marbled paper on boards, matching page edges and endpapers. Spine is banded and decorated with gold. Edges are worn; marbling on top page edge is worn except for one volume. The volumes have numerous illustrations, notes, maps and other editions. There are a number of fold outs, some are reproductions of letters. They have a hickory-smoky smell, like they were in a room with a fireplace. Bindings are tight. Pages are mildly yellowed, minor interior foxing. A very attractive set.. Revised. Half-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
