Inscribed (SIGNED) by Marianne Dunlop, who transcribed the letters & wrote the Introduction. Book contains transcriptions of 100 letters written (between 1765 & 1768) by the American feminist writer & philosopher Judith Sargent Murray, of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Included with the book are 2 flyers from the day celebrating the publication of the book (May 7, 1995), one being a Program of the celebration (attended by Marianne Dunlop & Bonnie Smith, among many others) in the Universalist Church of Gloucester, which was founded by Judith's husband, the Reverend John Murray, who brought Universalism to America. Also included is a separate printed Chronology of the life of Judith Sargent Murray. The package is complete with its original yellow ribbon, which originally tied all the items together. Binding of the book is sound & straight. Very light rubbing & foxing to part of the front cover, otherwise exterior is clean. One small finger-crumple to some of the pages, otherwise interior is unmarked & clean. . Signed by Editor. First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Square Octavo.
