Book desription: New York: Dodd, Mead, 1929. A beautiful copy in dj. Light greenish beige cloth with gilt titles & black silhouette illustration of children under a tree to front board. Striking gilt DUST JACKETwith black titles & same illustration. viii + 170 pages. Blue endpapers with silhouette illustrations; 28 b/w drawings by Ernest H. Shepard, some full-page, some in text. Binding is very sound, & straight; boards are clean, with gilt titles bright, & design clear & crisp. Lightest surface scratching to top edge, minor smudging & a few small light spots to fore-edge, which impinge slightly on to the margins of about 3 pages; 2 tiny black spatters to front endpaper, otherwise interior of book is unmarked & clean. Dj has wrinkling & toning to spine, & a little wrinkling to front & rear near spine; light wear to rear extrems., with a few short edge-tears; dj spine has 1/8 inch worn away at top; otherwise dj is sound, clean, & attractive, in Mylar protector. .
