Book desription: Prague: Artia, 1951. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. Emanuel Hercik. This is a study of folk toys, primarily of Czech origin but also compared to folk toys from around the world, including Africa, Eskimos, Japanese, Indian, American and so on. Written in English and French, there are 175 pages of truly wonderful illustrations produced in six colour offset. In addition there are 29 pen and ink drawings within the text. The colour printing quality is of a very high standard and offer some really stunning illustrations of the toys. There are some short splits to the edges of the dust jacket and it is a bit marked in places, but it is complete. The beige cloth cover has lifted in a few places, but it is clean. Excellent condition internally. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.
