First edition 1st printing, Subtitled: A novelization by Allan Ullman from the screen play by Lucille Fletcher. Very Good plus book with light edge wear corners and spine ends and a light bump at top front corner, in a Good jacket with rubbing and moderate edge wear with a number chips and losses especially at the spine and corners, all text intact except a bit of “Ullman” gone at top of spine. The screen play led to the classic noir movie of the same name, starring Barbara Stanwyck and Burt Lancaster. Stanwyck received the 1949 Oscar nomination for Best Actress but did not win. This book – which was probably released about the time of the movie’s release - is quite rare, especially in a jacket of any condition.
