Origial dark stipled navy-blue cloth with gilt spine and front cover titles. 268pp + 4pp rear ads. Purports to be an account of a journey into the supernatural world as dictated to Edward Huntington by Edward Stanton. Actually it is a bizarre novel recounting the experiences of someone who travels into the supernatural world via dreams, encountering elementals, vampires, ghosts etc in addition to the spirits of dead people who recount their harrowing histories to the author. The book has been signed in ink by the author as follows: "Boston Theosophical Society, With the sincere regards of a fellow member, The Author, E.S. Huntington, Boston, Feb 6th, 1892." On the front pastedown of the book there is the private library bookplate of the Boston Theosophical Society which notes that E.S. Huntington donated the book. Spine ends chafed and nicked, rear endpapers minor staining, some localised creasing of cloth to lower portion of rear board, general light wear, between good and very good.
