Original navy blue cloth decoratively stamped and lettered in gilt on spine. Some light shelfwear, with a very small (5 x 5 mm) piece of cloth missing from the upper outer corner of the front board. Overall a very good copy. ÒThe Ôprincipal assistantÕ on J.D. WhitneyÕs California Geological Survey, Brewer wrote these letters to his brother in order to provide himself with a permanent record for later reference.
