MOSHE DAYAN: THE SOLDIER, THE MAN, THE LEGENDby Teveth, Shabtai; Translated from the Hebrew by Leah and David Zinder1st US Edition, 1st Printing
Book DescriptionBoston: Houghton Mifflin, 1973. 372 pages in an attractive/durable full-cloth binding, includes a group of pictures, a map and an Index. "Moshe Dayan, Israel's Minister of Defence, has become a legend in his own lifetime. Born on the first kibbutz, a victim and victor in thirty years of armed struggle to secure the survival of the Jewish community in its homeland, he possesses all the qualities of the popular hero: courage, aggressiveness, self-reliance, and ambition... Based upon extended research, including many exclusive interviews with Dayan himself and members of his family, comrades in arms and political supporters and rivals, MOSHE DAYAN is an engrossing portrait of one of the most controversial and influential leaders of our time." Very nice copy: heel of spine/lower corner of front have a tiny bit of bumping, very small/very faint staining at bottom of endpaper gutters (hard to see and doesn't effect the pages of the book) else the book is as new with NO previous owner's signature/bookplate/highlighting/underlining/notes/stamps. The dj has a tiny bit of chipping at corners of head/heel of spine, small area of wrinkling on back, one short tear/a little creasing at lower edge of front (but tear has been neatly repaired with NO tape). Otherwise the dj is in great shape and attractive. NOT an ex-library, NOT a book club, NOT a remainder, dj NOT price-clipped ("$8.95"). Near Fine to Fine in Very Good+ to Near Fine dj.. 1st US Edition, 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine to Fine/Very Good+ to Near Fine. Bookseller Terms of SaleReturns: ALL MY BOOKS ARE GUARANTEED: returnable for any reason (except for "I read it and want to send it back now.") within two weeks of when you get them. All I ask is that you let me know you're sending them back and pack them well. Pictures and Condition: All of the pictures with my listings are of MY OWN BOOKS. I don't use publisher's stock photos or steal other dealers' pictures (that would be totally sleazy!). Grading: My top grade is Fine except for some of my older stock (science fiction, fantasy and horror from my personal collection) where it's Very Fine (I have to find time to edit those...). I ALWAYS point-out remainder marks, bookplates, previous owner's signatures and price-clipped djs. In fact, I tend to point-out everything that's wrong with a book. This may run some people off but I think it's better for you to KNOW what the books' flaws are rather than ordering from a dealer that just puts "Acceptable" or "G/G" and you're supposed to GUESS what's wrong. I'll put a new dj protector on all hardcovers with dust jackets for no charge. Shipping Terms: INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE: all of my international shipping rates are based on my use of a Priority or Express Mail Flat Rate Envelope to send you the book (don't worry, I'll pad it well before I put it in the envelope). However, if the book is too big for the envelope I will have to request more shipping. Also: I ACCEPT PAYPAL if you prefer. Please just order the book through Biblio and indicate that you want to pay with a check/cheque. Then send me the funds through PayPal and we'll be good to go. I offer free USPS delivery confirmation for all US orders. I carefully pack all books so that they will get to you safely. The dreaded disclaimer: if the post office loses your order it's not my fault! Of course, it's not YOUR fault either but getting the post office to admit it's THEIR fault is an exercise in futility. So, if you're worried about it (I've only had one package go missing out of all the thousands I've sent) I'd suggest you tell me you want insurance; I'll hit you up for the extra cost (but ONLY my cost, NO markup). Thank you. -Von Customer ReviewsOn Aug 25 2009, shreeshleo said: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "excellent book must read it tell how man should work as hard work pay " |
